1. Introduction:

Leading to way to better education since 1983-84, with eminent and qualified professors dedicated in sharpening the skill of every individual students and up lifting the weaker, Political science department of Sarala Mohavidyalaya, Rahama has been achieving success in every stride. The main objective of the department is to produce maximum number of good students and encourage them for higher education. Faculty members also strongly desire for building-in-depth knowledge of the subject in the mind set of the students so that they can establish themselves in future at different all India level competitions. The primary aim of the department is to develop the basic concept of “Morality” among students so that they would become a good and responsible citizen in future.

2. Aim and Objective:

  1. To provide students a broad survey of the Political world, focusing upon the ideas, institutions and processes that shape modern politics.
  2. To develop critical reasoning, effective communication skill and coherent analytical writing.
  3. To develop an alternative prospective on Politics outside the class room boundary.
  4. To develop the personal value and understanding about the world that exist around the students.

  1. Many students pursue higher studies and complete their Post-Graduation in Political Science.
  2. A no of students are employed in govt. and non-govt. schools.
  3. A lot of students of our department are presently serving in various govt. and private sectors, such as banking, health care, police, marketing, management, mass media and financial organizations.

Future Plan:

  1. Conducting more departmental seminars, interdepartmental talks, group discussions, etc.
  2. To maintain good synergy between teachers & students
  3. To make students aware about the prospect of opting Anthropology as Honours Course.
  4. The students of this college come from a mixed socio-economic background, so the handling of the students is not homogeneous. In some cases more students are first generation learners, so we treat them differently.
  5. The teachers want the students to be established end so they give utmost priority to their performance and character building.
